The Crane Valley Partnership (CVP) has a Vision for an improved landscape for the River Crane between the split with the Duke of Northumberland’s River (DNR) and Cole Park Island.
Instead of a bare concrete channel, often hidden from view, we want to see:
• a more natural river full of plants, fish and wildlife, running through re-landscaped parks and open spaces, with improved facilities;
• an accessible riverside path all the way from Kneller Gardens to Northcote Nature Reserve; and
• more space in the river channel for water, to reduce the risk of flooding.
Sir David Attenborough supports our Vision. Will you join him?
Please spare five minutes of your time to give us your views and opinion on the Vision by answering a few questions. We would be grateful for responses by 8 January 2018, although we will continue to accept views and submissions as the project develops.
To find out more and to download the full Vision document, please visit:,
or call in to see a hard copy at Hounslow and Twickenham Civic Centres, Twickenham and Whitton libraries, or the Shot Tower in Crane Park.

Our next steps will be to review public views and, subject to these, undertake further feasibility work into the potential for this scheme and likely costs. Initial funding for this is already in place from the Environment Agency and Defra.
The Vision document has been produced in consultation with the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Richmond-upon-Thames; the Environment Agency; environmental NGOs, including Green Corridor and the London Wildlife Trust; and representatives of FORCE, and other friends‘ groups including Kneller Gardens, Moormead, Northcote Nature Reserve and the Tidal Crane Association.
